Description:
Throughout history, artists such as Maurice Prendergast would hand burnish Japanese paper in order to transfer their inked image without a press. In this printmaking workshop, participants will learn how to print by hand and operate an etching press in the Robert Dente Printmaking Lab. Instructor, Tony Kirk, will show you how to print on a press and adjust the pressure to ensure a good impression. Bring your ideas, drawings and reference photos, and be prepared to experiment with a variety of techniques. By the end of the workshop, participants will complete a series of monotype prints.
