Let’s delve into the intricate world of origami bookmaking where paper takes form! Join us as Instructor Barbara Asher demonstrates the art of bookmaking in her origami Treasure Book Workshop. Choosing from a buffet of colored and patterned papers, participants can design their own treasure book, outfitted with pockets made for keeping cherished belongings and inspirational quotes. This workshop is perfect for those looking to build their own unique journal or making a thoughtful gift for a special someone! The possibilities are endless!

Instructor Bio:

Barbara Asher has been involved in the world of imagery for her whole career. She has explored the medical visual world through the study and practice of radiographic imagery and the fine art world through the study of Art History. Barbara holds a BA in Art History, University of Hartford, a BA. in Advanced Medical Imaging University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT, and studied at Mount Sinai School of Radiologic Technology, Hartford, CT. Additionally, she has been an adjunct radiology instructor at Manchester Community College, Manchester, CT. She has also served as an Adjunct Instructor for the Radiography Program at the University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT, Adjunct Faculty for the Health Sciences Department and as the Clinical Coordinator/Ultrasound Program University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT.

Materials:

Four or more pieces of lightweight paper. They must be at least 11” x 17”. Alternatively, a large roll of paper

Examples: Large sheets of decorative art paper, rolls of gift wrap (not the shiny type), brown packing paper (comes in a large roll). Avoid tissue or crepe paper.
