Description:

This Nature-Inspired Gel Plate Printing Workshop will have you connecting with nature and your creativity through the satisfying and fun process of gel plate printing. Using a variety of leaves and natural materials, Heather will guide you in using a gel plate, acrylic paint and a variety of tools and techniques to create beautiful prints that can be used as final art works, collages, cards and other mixed media projects.

You will start the day with a short walk on the Five Points Art Center grounds to find leaves and materials. Back in the classroom, Heather will discuss, demonstrate and guide you through multiple techniques and approaches. There are guided exercises and also time for you to experiment and explore with the materials. You will use a variety of brilliant, high quality GOLDEN paint acrylics, papers and mark making tools to create beautiful works on paper.

This is a perfect way to connect with nature, your creativity, and other like-minded people, all in a bucolic setting and state-of-the-art creative center. Come by yourself or bring a friend. You will leave with dozens of personal prints and a revived creative spirit.

Bio:

Heather is an abstract artist and art educator. She has pursued the study of art history and direct art making for over 25 years. She studied at the Art Students League of New York and with several master artists. She received her B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University. She is a certified GOLDEN Arts Educator and Silver Brush Educator. Heather teaches art classes online, in her studio and throughout the region.
