Description

Leslie will  present various mini lessons on general design applied to landscape, still life and the figure.She will bring examples of works created by various artists to illustrate the range that pastels offer. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a range of pastel applications including color layering, blending techniques, and creating texture. It is encouraged that participants to bring some photos or objects for these studies so they can make their individualized decisions on their final drawing(s).

Bio

Leslie Landau earned her BFA in printmaking/drawing, from the Ohio State University, and Graduate Certification, MS in Art Education and 6th year in Educational Leadership, from Central Connecticut State University. Her work has been included in many exhibitions across CT and NY, including Mattatuck Museum, New Britain Museum of American Art, CT Academy of Art, Silvermine Art Guild, Emerge Gallery and Five Points Gallery. She was the recipient of the Philanthropic Institute's Artist Renewal Grant, which culminated in a presentation of new work at the New Britain Museum of Art. Her work is held in private collections throughout New England, New York, Ohio, Washington and California. 

Materials

The instructor can provide the materials for a 30.00 supply fee or the participant can bring their own supplies.

Soft Pastels, Pastel Paper,1 Sheet ,approx.  20" x 28"

Weather Cancellation Policy

In the event Five Points Arts cancels a workshop due to an inclement weather forecast every effort will be made to re-schedule the workshop. If the workshop cannot be re-scheduled, or the new date does not accommodate the registrant's schedule, that person will be offered the opportunity to apply the cancelled workshop fee toward a future workshop. If preferred, Five Points will offer a full refund instead of a rescheduling option.Every effort will be made to announce weather related cancellations 24 hours in advance; however, registrants are advised to check their e-mail on the morning of the scheduled workshop for any cancellation message.
