No need to have cold feet! Join Mike for a workshop of fun and creative expressiveness! The basic to advanced painting concepts of landscape painting will be discussed. Participants are encouraged to bring their own printed photos to work from. There will be plenty of individual guidance and help for each student. This workshop is taught by an accomplished professional artist.
Instructor Bio
I began drawing and painting at the age of seven. I am basically self-taught and working primarily with oil paints in the Plein-Air tradition.
This form of working outdoors grew out of my vacations on Cape Cod and Cape Ann Massachusetts, where the natural beauty of the landscape is overwhelming. I continue to paint shorelines in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
In fact, people regularly purchase my coastline painting right off the easel. From the shore, I turned my love of natural phenomenon inland to the beauty and liveliness of trees and their surroundings. Most of my paintings are completed in one session. This is called Alla Prima.
I consider myself a true and traditional painter with a love of the natural world and its possibilities for expression.
