Workshop Description

Drawing the human figure is one of the finest things one can do for visual awareness no matter what their art practice is.  The process helps you “see” and expand your vision.  It engages you in studies of shape, form, light and dark, composition and much more.

In this one-day workshop participants will be introduced to various approaches to drawing the figure.  Techniques such as gesture drawing, contour, blind contour, angle drawing will be introduced and demonstrated in the morning session.

In the afternoon session there will be an opportunity to work on longer drawings using measuring techniques for proportions and techniques for shading.

I will bring art books and drawing technique books to share.

There will be demonstrations as well as individual attention and assistance.
