Workshop Description
From beginner to advanced artist.
This workshop will go over the basics of painting outdoors. Including composition, values and color theory. It will cover the importance of proper observation, lighting and learning to identify key elements in a landscape. In addition color mixing, application and personal expression will be discussed. There will be plenty of one on one help for each student. Taught by an accomplished professional plein-air painter.
Required Materials
Paints, Oil or Acrylic, all artist grade if possible
Smaller tubes of:
a Large tube of Titanium White
Brushes: decent quality bristle brushes for oils, synthetic brushes for acrylics
Other paints, brushes and canvas sizes optional
Instructor Bio
Mike began drawing and painting at the age of seven. He is basically self-taught and works primarily in oil paints. Mike is a serious and devoted painter and has been working to develop and express his talent for over twenty years. During this time he has exhibited in many art galleries and art exhibitions. In all of Connecticut and surrounding states Mike finds places to paint, explore and express his passion for the natural world. Favorite places include the Farmington Valley, Cape Ann and Cape Cod.
