Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

Workshop Description
This workshop will introduce students to the process of tapestry weaving, starting with building a frame loom and ending with a finished tapestry piece. Students will explore color, texture, and image making by working with a variety of tapestry weaving techniques. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a completed tapestry piece and a frame loom to continue weaving at home.

Instructor Bio
Sophia DeJesus-Sabella is a weaver based in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated with Honors in Fibers from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2019.
She has been an Open Studio Resident at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, where she will be returning as a Studio Technician this summer.
Her work is held in private collections across the nation.
