Description:

Thad Kubis will take you on a photographic tour from analog to digital and everything in between! Beginning with film and darkroom skills you will experience both 35mm and large format camera systems. Contact sheets and prints will be made by the second class as you transition to digital and discuss the positive and negatives (pun intended!) of both technologies. By class three you will be making digital prints to compare with your analog prints and be introduced to Smartphone and other digital editing tools. If you ever wondered what the best route to take photographically, this class is for you!  

Open Studio Time:

Upon approval from the instructor, workshop participants will be granted access to the lab throughout the duration of the workshop. Aside from scheduled workshop hours, the lab is available for independent use Tuesday – Sunday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Materials:

All equipment, film, and chemicals will be provided.

Instructor Bio:

Thad Kubis has a broad base of photographic experience. He has done work in the areas of travel and leisure, manufacturing, banking, financial services, marine, fine art, stock, sailing, and editorial. He is an active photographic instructor, lecturer, and consultant. He has taught Smartphone/iCamera photography, DSLR, analog, large format, composition, and seeing/observation. His classes are offered in person and online, to groups, individuals and schools. He has been recognized by Apple as an Apple Teacher.

Workshops may be cancelled due to low enrollment if a minimum number of participants are not met. Registrants will be notified in advance and a refund or credit will be arranged (see workshop polices below for details).
