Description:
This two-hour workshop is designed for children and families and will take participants through the basics of making pop-up cards. Learn the simple mechanics to make cards magically pop, spin, and delight. Participants will leave with 2-3 cards.
Materials:
All materials will be provided by Five Points Arts Center.
Instructor Bio:
Marianne Petit is an artist and educator whose work explores fairy tales, graphic and narrative medicine, as well as collective storytelling practices through mechanical books that combine animation and paper craft. Her interests are in combining technology, traditional book arts, and sequential storytelling to create new forms of narrative. Ms. Petit holds several degrees including a BA in Studio Art and Art Education and a MA in Printmaking both from New York University. She has exhibited and taught widely and is the recipient of many grants, fellowships, and awards.
