Working from a photograph of your choice, learn how to create a portrait out of fabric. Fabric portraits can be quilted by machine or by hand. They can also be done with a "No-Sew" method using "Steam-a-Seam II" to permanently fuse all pieces in place. Participants can create a family heirloom to be cherished for years.

Open Studio Time:

Upon approval from the instructor, workshop participants will be granted access to the lab throughout the duration of the workshop. Aside from scheduled workshop hours, the lab is available for independent use Tuesday – Sunday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Materials:

Provided by participants:

  • Choose a photograph and have it printed and enlarged on paper the size of the finished quilted portrait (Staples does this)

  • Gather a wide collection of fabrics in many shades of the colors found in your photograph (or make changes to the colors in the photograph!).

  • Additional supplies will be emailed upon registration.
