Description:

In this introductory workshop, students will learn the basic techniques of the stained glass craft. You'll create a beautiful sunflower suncatcher to hang on your tree or give as a gift. Sunflowers have been celebrated for their ability to remove toxins from the soil as well as their aesthetic value. Their heliotropic nature (turning to face the sun) serves as a metaphor for faith, spiritual growth, and the quest for light and truth. All materials are included, no experience necessary.

Materials:

All materials are provided by the instructor for a $25 fee (payable to the instructor). 

Instructor Bio:

Sarah Segovia began exploring the stained glass medium in 1994 and developed a fascination with this ancient art that has remained with her to this day. Sarah spent a year abroad in London, England, concentrating in stained glass, mosaics, kiln work and leading. After graduating with a BFA in Painting, she devoted her time completely to stained glass. Currently, she mainly creates specialty stained glass giftware and custom design work. Sarah's work reflects her passion to create fragile beauty, intricate patterns, and unique designs.
