Description:
Create four beautiful abstract landscapes using fluid acrylics, mediums, layering, and distinctive mark-making techniques. This is a hands-on workshop where you will create abstract landscapes on quality archival paper. Instructor, Heather Neilson will teach you how to work with GOLDEN fluid paints and mediums to build layers to add depth and complexity to your pieces. You will also learn color principles to apply to your paintings and experiment with mark-making to bring character and texture to your artwork. Gain practical skills, build confidence, and add your personal flair to your abstract landscapes.
Materials:
Provided by instructor for $15 material fee (payable to the instructor):
GOLDEN paints, archival paper, supplemental brushes
Provided by participants:
A few various sized brushes, one should be approximately 1 inch wide (supplemental brushes provided by instructor)
Container for water (a recycled large yogurt container works great)
Palette or palette paper (optional)
Instructor Bio:
Heather is an abstract artist and art educator. She has pursued the study of art history and direct art making for over 25 years. She studied at the Art Students League of New York and with several master artists. She received her B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University. She is a certified GOLDEN Arts Educator and Silver Brush Educator. Heather teaches art classes online, in her studio and throughout the region.
All workshops are held at the Five Points Arts Center, 855 University Drive
Workshops may be cancelled due to low enrollment if a minimum number of participants are not met. Registrants will be notified in advance and a refund or credit will be arranged (see workshop polices below for details).
