Stained Glass: Origami Crane

Description:

Assemble your own three-dimensional stained glass origami crane. Through demonstrations and individualized instruction, learn techniques which will enable you to shape your glass sculpture. This fun-filled workshop is open to all levels of experience.

Materials:

Provided by instructor for a $20 material fee (payable to the instructor):

• Stained glass tools, soldering tools, stained glass, copper foil, polishing compound. 

Provided by Five Points Arts:

• Supplemental stained glass, grinders.

Instructor Bio:

Sarah Segovia began exploring the stained-glass medium in 1994 and developed a fascination with this ancient art that remains with her to this day. She spent a year abroad in London, England, concentrating further in stained-glass, mosaics, kiln work, and leading. After graduating with a BFA in Painting, she devoted her time completely to stained-glass. She creates specialty stained-glass giftware and custom design work which gives her the opportunity to work with various individuals to help bring their vision to reality and create one-of-a-kind works of art. Sarah's work reflects her passion to create fragile beauty, intricate patterns, and unique designs.

All workshops are held at the Five Points Arts Center, 855 University Drive.

Workshops may be cancelled due to low enrollment if a minimum number of participants are not met. Registrants will be notified in advance and a refund or credit will be arranged (see workshop polices below for details).
