Description:

Connect with fellow clay enthusiasts in this handbuilding workshop custom designed to address all levels of experience. Practice essential techniques in coil building, pinch pots, slab construction, and surface decoration to develop your own unique style. Learn from your instructor and embrace ceramics with confidence in a fun, supportive community.

 

Open Studio Time:

Upon approval from the instructor, workshop participants will be allowed to work independently in the Ceramics Lab for the duration of the workshop. Aside from scheduled workshop hours, the Lab is available to use Monday – Saturday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.

 

Materials:

Provided by Five Points Arts:

  • Glazes

  • One 25lb bag of clay per person. Additional bags of clay may be purchased.

Instructor Bio:

With over 37 years of experience, Alice brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her pottery workshops. Alice holds a doctorate in art education and specializes in ceramics, both handbuilding and wheel throwing. She believes that pottery is not just about crafting beautiful pieces, but also about fostering self-expression and personal growth. Her warm and encouraging teaching style ensures that every student, regardless of skill level, feels supported and motivated.

 


All workshops are held at the Five Points Art Center, 855 University Drive

Workshops may be cancelled due to low enrollment if a minimum number of participants are not met. Registrants will be notified in advance and a refund or credit will be arranged (see workshop polices below for details).
