Description:

Sketching is a powerful way to learn how to draw what you see. In this class, participants will build confidence and develop core observational drawing skills through hands-on practice and experimentation. Each session will introduce new techniques and encourage personal expression. Participants will work in their own sketchbooks, building a body of work over four weeks. Stick with it, and you will walk away with a great visual diary and a whole new way of seeing the world! 

 

Materials: 

Provided by the participants: 

  • Sketchbook (minimum size 6" x 9")
  • Pencils: 2B and 4B
  • Permanent ink pens
  • Eraser (white vinyl or pink pearl)
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Watercolor tin set with one brush

 

Instructor Bio:

Marc Stolfi is a Torrington-born artist/illustrator currently working from his studio at Liberty Art and Framing in Torrington, CT.  Marc's illustrations have appeared in various publications such as Connecticut Magazine, National Golfer, The Catalina Island Conservancy and Together Time Children’s activity books. Marc has shown and sold paintings throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, Texas and Arizona. Marc is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, (published by Sound View Press) and the National Registry of Fine Art. 

 


All workshops are held at the Five Points Arts Center, 855 University Drive, Torrington, CT 06790

Workshops may be cancelled due to low enrollment if a minimum number of participants are not met. Registrants will be notified in advance and a refund or credit will be arranged (see workshop polices below for details).
